Certified Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® Practitioner
Lorrie Jollimore

Movement and Vitality

Lorrie Jollimore has been a certified Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® practitioner since 2015. Lorrie’s desire to become a practitioner, trained by Anat herself to use this cutting edge neuroscience based approach, was a very personal one, as in 2011 at 11 months, her daughter was diagnosed with Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy, which affected her entire left side. Her daughter is now running, jumping and continuously improving her motor skills. Lorrie’s inspiration to want to help other children with brain injury at birth as well as adults who have survived a brain injury stems from the abilities of both her daughter and her clients to learn and grow in the face of real challenges. Her clients have achieved great success with this approach increasing functional abilities after Concussion, Stroke, Chronic Pain, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Injuries, Autism and so on.

Lorrie Jollimore, ABM NeuroMovement® Practitioner

Lorrie has achieved all 4 levels of NeuroMovement certification to work with adults, children, seniors and high performers.

She has taught over 6000+ private lessons to hundreds of clients and has experienced remarkable outcomes over 9 years. She is a very active and sought after practitioner and her clients have ranged in age from 8 weeks old to 86 years. She owns and operates a well established and growing rehabilitation centre, Movement and Vitality in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Prior to taking NeuroMovement training Lorrie attained both Shodan (first degree black belt) and Nidan (second degree) with the Japan Karate Association registered in Tokyo, Japan. This has greatly enhanced Lorrie’s understanding of body dynamics to help others learn to move in functional ways to enhance balance, flexibility and strength.

Lorrie has recently studied to become a Joudry Sound Therapy Consultant offering Sound Therapy for Neurorehabilitation based on the work of Dr. Alfred Tomatis and is keenly interested in continuously expanding her knowledge of neuroscience to help others improve.

Lorrie’s goal is to help you accelerate your learning and gain better mobility to live pain free with easier movement and vitality.

Sandra Jollimore, Youth Care Worker, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

Sandra presently works with the school system as a Youth Worker at the Junior High Level. She has recently attained certification in “ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and Behavioural Interventions” and she also has training with “Adventure Based Learning Facilitators Training (ABL-SEL)” through the Public Schools Branch. Prior to returning to PEI, Sandra has had Non Violet Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training and has had a lengthy career in short and long-term care residential facilities and group homes to bring positive change to the lives of children, youth and their families.

She holds a BA with a specialization in Therapeutic Recreation from Concordia University in Montreal, QC  and a Child and Youth Worker diploma from Holland College in Charlottetown, PE. It is through this combination of education and field experience and our shared values in supporting all children and youth reach their potential, that we can now support PEI families to assist with learning and behavioural modifications.

Working within the mental health and social services system in Montreal for eighteen years, she acquired a reputation of possessing strong abilities in problem solving, person centered planning and advocating with confident decision making skills. Sandra is able to quickly develop a genuine rapport with children and their families that is authentic and honest. She strives to apply a holistic, individual and culturally sensitive approach when developing programs or seeking services to support our clients and practices a multidisciplinary team approach in achieving results. Having been fully trained in intervention and behavior modification techniques, she is able to see potential challenges before they occur and is capable of using appropriate non-violent intervention should a situation escalate.

Her experience in addictions intervention and support has occurred under a broader umbrella of mental health treatments and in collaboration with trained professionals at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The team she was a part of ran specialized programs for the family members as well as the live-in youth inside their group/residential homes. It was a key component for a wrap around family/client centered approach.

We believe that adapting this same approach of introducing the concepts and personalized interventions acquired will help support our clients at Movement and Vitality in PEI. Success can be best achieved with a two tiered collaborative approach of movement lessons provided by Lorrie and home site visits if needed provided by Sandra, to improve social, cognitive and physical abilities.
